Transition from CH-Login to AGOV

Starting from May 10th 2026, the current login system for ALPS, CH-Login, will gradually be replaced by the new AGOV system.

1.   Users who log into ALPS indirectly via connect do not need to take any action. The system transition will be automatically implemented in the background for them. The following information therefore applies only to users who log in directly through the link https://www.alps.bsv.admin.ch/alps.

2.   From May 10th, new CH-Logins can no longer be created. New users must create an AGOV login starting from May 10th. The processes for authorizing new users and creating user groups remain unchanged, and the user manuals are currently being updated and should soon be available on the ALPS homepage.

3.   CH-Login accounts that exist before May 10th will continue to work after May 10th and can be used without issues. However, they must be converted by the users themselves into an AGOV login during the transition period. A specific date for the definitive deactivation of CH-Login has not yet been set. According to current information, it should still be possible to use it for at least one more year. However, we recommend setting up the new logins as soon as possible.

4.   The Federal Office of Information Technology, Systems and Telecommunication (FOITT) has created a step-by-step guide, which you can find at the following link: Switch from CH-LOGIN to AGOV-Login with the same email address — eIAM Help Pages. At the end of the guide, there is also the option to open a ticket (red button). Users experiencing issues are asked to contact FOITT directly via ticket.
