If a person is assigned to work temporarily in a contracting state by his or her Swiss employer, it will be possible to retain social security obligations exclusively in Switzerland for a limited period. Confirmation by the compensation office is provided for the maximum period stipulated in the relevant international treaty. Assignments for longer periods must be applied for at the Federal Social Insurance Office (FSIO).
